In June 2010, the first group from UCLA School of Dentistry embarked on an unknown journey to establish a dental clinic at the Fall River Mission in Guaimaca, Honduras. Two years and six dental missions later, the clinic is thriving with 5 dental chairs and units, enough dental instruments and supplies to keep the clinic stocked for months and many eager dental students awaiting to participate each year. As we prepare to leave for the seventh mission trip to the Guaimaca Clinic, we cannot be more grateful for all of the support from friends, family, and corporate sponsors that have enabled us to perform such high quality dentistry in a third world country and make-shift clinic like ours.
We will be in Guiamaca at the Dental Mission from Sept 2-8 and then relaxing after a week of hard work on the Island of Roatan!
