Diving!
Ryan and Andrey diving, almost done with certification. We have seen tons of fish, sea horses, a green turtle, fire worms, eels, and amazing coral!
Fourthnight in Roatan
Yesterday, we all took a short break and went kayaking as Ryan and Andrey went deep sea diving. It was nice to let go of our fears and insecurities, but now we go back to a schedule of alternating watches at the apartment.
We had a great trip at Guaimaca, and a good start at Roatan. We are very blessed to have each other, our support and companionship is helping us try to enjoy the rest of this trip!

Nightfall In Roatan
After a long day of bus rides, plane rides, and more bus rides, we finally ended up at Bananorama. Dr.Espinoza is busy swimming with the dolphins, so she is unable to post as many pictures now. Today we all enjoyed the ocean and sunset together, watched a raffle for the tourists, then went to West Bay so Ryan could catch blue crabs and dj for us. Tomorrow, half the crew are going diving and the other half are going to rent scooters and go on an adventure! Goodnight friends!

Last day at the mission
Today was our last day at the mission. It has been an amazing trip so far and everyone has had a great time. We are extremely tired and definitely ready for a vacation on Roatan! We leave tomorrow morning and will arrive in Roatan tomorrow afternoon. We are looking forward to scuba diving and relaxing on the beach!
Yesterday morning we also visited the girls school that is run by the mission. It is a high school for the girls from the villages around Guaimaca. These girls come from very poor villages with no opportunity for and education. We treated many of the girls at the clinic and it was nice to see the school.
Tonight we ended by packing up clinic and then playing soccer against some of the children. We drove out to a field and played for about and hour. After going up to a quick 1-0 lead due to great goal by justin and an awesome assist by Ryan. Andrey was our start and Robert and dr Espinoza had some great saves. However, we definitely lost haha.
We will update more when we get to Roatan!
Hilights:
9/4/12
Dr. Espinoza ordered doubledouble and ended up with two hamburgers
Thu yelled at a patient for crying and explained "I thought you said no ethics!"
Finally finding the clinic fanny packs "mericonas" , which actually meant "gay person"
Ryan passed out floss which kids ate "menta!"
Robert offered the girls in exchange for safety (on the streets)
Susan witnessed a man peeing "i wanted to make sure what it was". Randi missed it.
Ryan finally cut his wig. Thu used finishing shears.
Ryan used magnets to cure his deep vein thrombosis/pitting edema.
Randi, Susan, and Thu ran out of chairs to work so shared air water syringe and used a rolling chair as a bonus chair. Found out the two girls were cousins, so they shared the curing light too.
Denise and mark gave OHI.
Knee dentistry for a chair that would not recline.
Wirebending with hemostats, adjusting dentures.
Assasin.

Today's final countdown: 18 patients, 15 extractions, 2 Root canals, 29 fillings, and 1 quadrant of scaling and root planing (deep cleaning), oh and about 10 direct pulo caps. (which means that there is a possibility that 10 teeth won't need a root canal)... Not our goal, but definitely worked hard and relieved a lot of pain. 😃
