We have arrived!

We have finally made it to Guaimaca after a long day of traveling. LAX was surprisingly uncrowded which was a nice change. We left LAX at 1:30am and had a 5 hr flight to San Salvador, El Salvador where we had a one hour lay over and then another hours flight into Tegucigalpa. We got through customs without too much hassle, they opened a lot of our bins and after explains we were on a dental mission trip they let us pass. We then met Fredy who was our bus driver. The missions bus was broken so they had to arrange another bus for us, which was actually a really nice bus and made the 3 hour ride a lot easier. We stopped in the Valley of Angles, a small tourist town for lunch and did a little shopping also. We then continued on our way to Guaimaca and arrived around 4pm. We checked into the hotel we are staying at and it is very nice and will be a great place to stay. There is a "Festival of The Ugly Fool" going on in the main square of town right by the mission this weekend, which was fun to see and a few of us even rode on some of the rides. We then worked on setting up the clinic and prepared for tomorrow. We have almost everything set up and should be ready to start seeing patients tomorrow. We will update tomorrow about how it goes!
